Joseph M. Hassman, DO, FACOP
Dr. Joseph Hassman has been practicing medicine since 1970 in Berlin, New Jersey, where he is currently treating many second and third generation family members in the community. A true practitioner of "family medicine," Dr. Hassman proudly welcomed two of his sons into the Advocare Berlin Medical Associates practice, and his two other children are also physicians. Together the Hassman family will continue to make their family your family.
Dr. Hassman received his bachelor's degree from Temple University in 1957 and his doctor of osteopathy degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1965. He is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and is a member of the Camden County Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the New Jersey Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic Association. "Dr. Joe" and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2009. They enjoy winter skiing, summer boating, and fishing with their family - including their nine grandchildren.
David Hassman, DO, FACOFP
Dr. David Hassman says, "Patient-doctor interaction and communication are foremost in giving compassionate medical care. It is imperative to view each patient uniquely in order to provide successful diagnosis and treatment."
Dr. Hassman is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association. After earning his medical degree from Philadelphia Osteopathic School of Medicine, he completed his internship at Kennedy Hospital and his residency in 1995 at Suburban General Hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania. With extensive training in clinical research in the areas of general internal medicine, Dr. Hassman serves as the practice's Chief Medical Officer for Comprehensive Clinical Research. He has conducted studies in diabetes, arthritis, lipid disorders, hypertension, and infectious diseases, and has a special interest in the field of sports medicine and injury prevention. Dr. Hassman promotes preventive medicine and wellness programs and makes ongoing professional education a priority. He also enjoys his participation as a physician for Eastern High School's sports teams. "Dr. Dave" enjoys all sports as a form of recreation and a way of staying physically fit. He currently lives in Cherry Hill with his wife and their son and two daughters.
Michael Hassman, DO, FACOFP
Dr. Michael Hassman is a firm advocate of high quality health care for all patients. He believes that "all patients should be treated with the highest level of care in a warm and friendly environment," and wants his patients to feel comfortable and at ease with their medical treatment. A specialist in family medicine, "Dr. Mike" enjoys seeing a variety of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Dr. Hassman is board certified in family medicine and stays abreast of current medical trends through his professional affiliations with the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and Lambda Omicron Gamma National Medical Society. He completed his internship and residency programs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he gained experience in dermatology, weight management, and sports medicine. He has training in clinical research in the areas of general internal medicine, and is associated with Comprehensive Clinical Research. He is also an active member of the community. During his leisure time, Dr. Mike enjoys water sports, skiing, photography, and travelling.
Richard Mauriello, DO, FACOFP
Dr. Richard Mauriello is board certified in family medicine and has been practicing in the Berlin area for more than 25 years. A New Jersey native, Dr. Mauriello attended Edgewood High School and graduated from Rutgers University before earning his medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and interning at John F Kennedy Hospital in Stratford. Since 1998 Dr. Mauriello has served as the school physician for the Winslow Township Elementary School. His special interests include adult onset diabetes mellitus, nutrition, low back pain, osteopathic manipulation, and hypertension.
Dr. Mauriello served as treasurer of the Kennedy Hospital medical staff in the early 1980's. At the same time, he also enjoyed an appointment to the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania's department of psychiatry, doing clinical trials on benzodiazepines under the world renowned Dr. Karl Rickels. He and his wife, who often works with him in the office, have three children. Dr. Mauriello is an avid woodworker, fly fisherman, and railroad enthusiast who also enjoys attending sports events, especially baseball and hockey.
Julius Mingroni, DO, FACOFP
Dr. Julius Mingroni, a board certified physician of many years experience, has committed his clinical skills to the South Jersey area. Originally based in South Philadelphia and Washington Township, Dr. Mingroni is both a pharmacist and a doctor. He graduated from the prestigious Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1963, and later earned his doctoral degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Mingroni is very knowledgeable in the area of disease prevention and in treating many disorders in the geriatric population. A well respected instructor, for a decade he served as director of the department of family practice at St. Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia, now part of the Jefferson Health System, where he supervised medical students and residents and trained many of the young physicians who are practicing in the Delaware Valley today. Having lectured and taught at the bedside, he is a very caring physician who inspired his students to have a good bedside manner with a humanistic approach to medicine. He is also interested in treating patients both holistically and as a whole. Dr. Mingroni is active in community affairs and enjoys spending time with his wife of nearly 50 years, his children and grandchild. He speaks Italian fluently.
Christopher Colopinto, DO, FACOFP
Dr. Christopher Colopinto is board certified in family practice since 1985 and is an associate professor of family medicine for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he enjoys teaching and has trained many medical students and residents for the past thirty years. Dr. Colopinto earned his doctoral degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978. Born in South Philadelphia, he graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1970 and attended Drexel University and Temple University, where he received his bachelor's degree in science in 1974. He is affiliated with JeffCare and previously practiced in Voorhees Township until joining Advocare Berlin Medical Associates. He previously worked as director of clinical research and was the principle investigator for more than thirty trials for arthritis, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. "Dr. Chris" has also maintained a family practice in the city of Camden since 1979.
Dr. Colopinto is a musician who played lead trumpet in his high school orchestra and marching band. He also plays keyboards and the accordion and has performed professionally with his band for more than thirty years. He is married has three daughters. Dr. Chris enjoys playing music and swimming. He is a former skier and a certified SCUBA diver.
Lyndy M. Tanimae, PA-C
Lyndy M. Tanimae joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in September 2008. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants, and is also a member of Cambridge Who's Who. A South Jersey native, Lyndy graduated in 1996 from Rutgers College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick with dual bachelor's degrees in biological sciences and psychology. Pursuing her passion for medicine, she then earned her degree in physician assistant studies at Anne Arundel College in Arnold, Maryland, where she graduated magna cum laude at the top of her class. While there, Lyndy developed a love for the family medicine environment, where she could get to know her patients and their families as a whole. Since graduating in 2001 she has been practicing family medicine full-time in and around the southern New Jersey region, including Clementon, Glassboro, Swedesboro, and Bridgeton, New Jersey.
Lyndy is very enthusiastic about medicine and getting her patients involved in their own care through education. She has particular interests in women's health and the important role of preventive health care. Lyndy welcomes all new patients and invites her previous patients to rejoin her at Advocare Berlin Medical Associates, to benefit from all that our facility has to offer. She is very proud to join this elite group of physicians who have been providing exceptional quality medical care in the Berlin area for decades. In her free time Lyndy enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nieces.
Stacy Ford, PA-C
Stacy Ford joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in June 2007. Born and raised in South Jersey, she grew up in Stratford and attended Sterling High School. At Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in psychology, Stacy played NCAA Division 1 softball for several years. She worked as a CAT scan technician assistant for one year, then in 2006 earned her master's of science degree in physician assistant studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Stacy chose to pursue a career in family practice because of the versatility it offers in all aspects of medicine. She especially values the ability to establish a rapport with her patients. Stacy also recognizes the challenges of the ever-changing medical profession and is committed to continuing medical education. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the New Jersey State Society of Physicians Assistants, and the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants. Stacy still enjoys playing softball and other recreational sports, watching and attending sporting events (Philadelphia fan all the way!), travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
Kelly Woods, PA-C
Kelly Woods joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates as a physician assistant in September 2010. She is a South Jersey native, growing up and currently residing in Cherry Hill, NJ. Kelly attended Camden Catholic High School where she came to her love of science and medicine. After graduating in 2005, she was accepted to a five-year accelerated physician assistant program at Philadelphia University. Graduating summa cum laude in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in health sciences, Kelly then earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies in 2010.
Kelly decided to pursue a career in family medicine to have the opportunity to care for patients from infancy to senior life. She loves the fact that she can offer continuity of care to her patients for long periods of time. Kelly has a special interest in women's health, pediatrics, and dermatology, and offers these services at our practice. She is a current member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the New Jersey Society of Physicians Assistants, and the Pennsylvania Society of Physicians Assistants. Kelly enjoys photography, travelling, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah Corry, PA-C
Sarah joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in August 2013. She is originally from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Philadelphia University. There she completed an accelerated five-year physician assistant program, during which she obtained a bachelor of science degree in health sciences, and master of science degree in physician assistant studies. Soon after graduating in August of 2012, she began practicing as a physician assistant providing primary care to patients in assisted living and homebound settings throughout Atlantic County. She joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates because of her strong interest in family practice, as this diverse field of medicine allows not only for comprehensive medical care, but also the development of strong relationships with her patients. She holds memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants. Sarah highly values her spare time spent with family and friends, and loves reading, biking, and traveling.
