Joseph M. Hassman, DO, FACOP

Dr. Joseph Hassman has been practicing medicine since 1970 in Berlin, New Jersey, where he is currently treating many second and third generation family members in the community. A true practitioner of "family medicine," Dr. Hassman proudly welcomed two of his sons into the Advocare Berlin Medical Associates practice, and his two other children are also physicians. Together the Hassman family will continue to make their family your family.

Dr. Hassman received his bachelor's degree from Temple University in 1957 and his doctor of osteopathy degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1965. He is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and is a member of the Camden County Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the New Jersey Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic Association. "Dr. Joe" and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2009. They enjoy winter skiing, summer boating, and fishing with their family - including their nine grandchildren.

David Hassman, DO, FACOFP

Dr. David Hassman says, "Patient-doctor interaction and communication are foremost in giving compassionate medical care. It is imperative to view each patient uniquely in order to provide successful diagnosis and treatment."

Dr. Hassman is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association. After earning his medical degree from Philadelphia Osteopathic School of Medicine, he completed his internship at Kennedy Hospital and his residency in 1995 at Suburban General Hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania. With extensive training in clinical research in the areas of general internal medicine, Dr. Hassman serves as the practice's Chief Medical Officer for Comprehensive Clinical Research. He has conducted studies in diabetes, arthritis, lipid disorders, hypertension, and infectious diseases, and has a special interest in the field of sports medicine and injury prevention. Dr. Hassman promotes preventive medicine and wellness programs and makes ongoing professional education a priority. He also enjoys his participation as a physician for Eastern High School's sports teams. "Dr. Dave" enjoys all sports as a form of recreation and a way of staying physically fit. He currently lives in Cherry Hill with his wife and their son and two daughters.

Michael Hassman, DO, FACOFP

Dr. Michael Hassman is a firm advocate of high quality health care for all patients. He believes that "all patients should be treated with the highest level of care in a warm and friendly environment," and wants his patients to feel comfortable and at ease with their medical treatment. A specialist in family medicine, "Dr. Mike" enjoys seeing a variety of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Dr. Hassman is board certified in family medicine and stays abreast of current medical trends through his professional affiliations with the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and Lambda Omicron Gamma National Medical Society. He completed his internship and residency programs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he gained experience in dermatology, weight management, and sports medicine. He has training in clinical research in the areas of general internal medicine, and is associated with Comprehensive Clinical Research. He is also an active member of the community. During his leisure time, Dr. Mike enjoys water sports, skiing, photography, and travelling.

Harris A. Twersky, DO

Dr. Harris A. Twersky is board certified in family practice medicine and has additional certifications in geriatrics. A diplomat of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Dr. Twersky has been serving South Jersey families with comprehensive medical care for more than 35 years. He is also a registered pharmacist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Twersky earned a bachelor of science and a bachelor of pharmacy degree from Rutgers University College of Pharmacy, where he was an associate instructor from 1969 to 1973, and a master's degree from Rutgers University Graduate School. In 1977 he received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he has served on the faculty as a preceptor since 1989. Dr. Twersky has also since 1989 served as an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). From 1995 to 1998 he was an associate clinical professor of medicine at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences.

Complementing Dr. Twersky's extensive experience as a family medicine practitioner, geriatrician, and educator, he has served as the medical director of a geriatric nursing home and as the physician for the Egg Harbor City school system. Dr. Twersky is a member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He enjoys reading, traveling, and most of all being with his family. Dr. Twersky resides in South Jersey with his wife, two dogs and a cat. He joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in 2012.

Jennifer Burrows, PA

Jennifer Burrows joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in 2012, after earning her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies through Philadelphia University's five-year Physician Assistant Program. A lifelong resident of South Jersey, she was raised and now resides in Haddon Township, where she graduated from Haddon Township High School in 2006. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).

Interested in all areas of medicine, Jennifer is particularly dedicated to family medicine and building strong, long-lasting relationships with patients. Jennifer enjoys running, recreational sports, baking, and spending time with her family.
