Winter Health ReminderThe snowy days of winter also bring cold and flu season. Protect yourself and your family from viruses by remembering to wash hands frequently throughout the day. Cold and flu viruses are most commonly spread by contact—touching doorknobs, desks, and items where other people have left viral germs behind. Send children to school with hand sanitizer and remind them to use it often. When a cold or flu does strike, the best treatment is plenty of rest and fluids. Please call our office before giving your child over-the-counter cold medications. Acetaminophen may be safely used for fevers, but some cold medicines may be inappropriate or dangerous for young children. We will gladly advise you on caring for your child's cold or flu. Call us whenever you have concerns about your children’s health.

And to make adolescents feel more comfortable in our care, we treat them with an exclusive office area featuring an experienced nurse practitioner, a separate entrance and waiting area, and special literature devoted to the unique issues confronting teens.
