John M. Tedeschi, MD

Dr. John M. Tedeschi is a distinguished leader in pediatric medicine, recognized nationally for his contributions to the field. Throughout his 40 years as a pediatrician, he has been devoted to developing new and creative strategies to improve pediatric healthcare, guided by his belief that "children are the future of our society, and their well-being is critical to the future."

A native of Camden, NJ, Dr. Tedeschi is currently Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Advocare, LLC, one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the Northeast. He is also Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Virtua In-House Pediatrics (VIP), Children and Adolescent Rapid Emergency Services (CARES), Pediatric Intensive Care Associates (PICA), Newborn Health Associates (NICU Care), and Continuum Health Alliance, a healthcare management company.

Edward Rosof, MD, FAAP

Dr. Edward Rosof was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1977 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After earning a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Lafayette College in 1967, he received his doctorate of medicine degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed his pediatric training and a one-year fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Rosof founded his first practice in Voorhees, New Jersey, in 1975. A decade later, he relocated the practice to its current location in Marlton.

Dr. Rosof has been named a regional "Top Doc" by both Philadelphia magazine and South Jersey magazine. Among his many honors and recognitions, he takes the greatest pride in having two of his former patients become physicians and colleagues that have joined him in practice at Advocare Marlton Pediatrics. For the past 33 years, Dr. Rosof has been dedicated to the challenges of diagnostic pediatrics and attentive to patient care and excellence. He derives great satisfaction from watching all of his patients grow up healthy to become fine young adults. Dr. Rosof resides with his wife in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He enjoys biking, traveling, and spending time at the Jersey shore.


James L. Kaltenbach, MD

Dr. James L. Kaltenbach is is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, Dr. Kaltenbach served in the United States Air Force for five years. He then graduated from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia and completed his pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson Medical College and Hospital. He joined Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics (formerly South Jersey Pediatrics) in 1981. Dr. Kaltenbach was named a 2008 "Top Doc" in Pediatrics by SJ Magazine. He and his wife reside in Moorestown; they have three sons and one grandson.

Howard N. Orel, MD, FAAP

Dr. Howard Orel joined Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 1989. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees from The College of Arts and Sciences, the Wharton School of Business, and the School of Medicine; then completed his pediatric training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1989. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Orel was honored to be named a regional "Top Doc" by South Jersey magazine.

Dr. Orel's special interests include evaluating and treating patients with ADD/ADHD and school problems, as well as healthcare management. He serves on the board of Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service (JFCS) of Southern New Jersey, and is a member of the Medical Alumni Advisory Council of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Orel has previously served on the executive boards of Camp Ramah in the Poconos and the Jewish Community Voice, a regional newspaper. The proud father of four daughters, Dr. Orel resides with his wife and two youngest children in Moorestown, New Jersey. He takes pleasure in traveling and volunteering for community service.

Dr. John B. Tedeschi became a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics in 1997. He earned a bachelor's of arts degree in psychobiology from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1989, and received his medical degree in 1993 from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1997 he completed his pediatric residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. The son of Dr. John M. Tedeschi, a co-founder of South Jersey Pediatrics (now Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics), Dr. John B. Tedeschi joined the practice in 1997 and currently manages four Advocare practices in southern New Jersey. He has special interests in asthma, allergy, ADD/ADHD and special needs children, and has often been recognized with "Top Doc" awards from SJ Magazine, South Jersey Magazine, and New Jersey Magazine.

In 1998 Dr. Tedeschi became a founding member of Children's Health Associates, LLC, now known as Advocare, LLC, one of the nation's premiere private healthcare providers; and he continues to serve as a member of Advocare's executive board. Dr. Tedeschi has also been involved with Continuum Health Alliance, LLC since its inception in 1998. Serving Continuum as vice president of Hospital Programs, he is primarily responsible for managing the company's intensive care programs and working closely with the chairman and executive board for ongoing operational excellence. As vice chair on the board of the March of Dimes South Jersey Division, Dr Tedeschi has chaired the annual golf outing for the past five years. He resides in Haddonfield, New Jersey with his wife and daughter. Together they enjoy golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, and bass fishing.

Reynaldo P. Velasco, MD

Dr. Velasco is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He graduated from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1978; received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1982; and completed his pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1985. Prior to joining Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics in 1990 he practiced pediatrics in Allentown, Pennsylvania. A firm believer in giving back to the community, Dr. Velasco has served the borough of New Hope, Pennsylvania as an elected councilman since 2003. Since 1988, Dr. Velasco, an avid runner, has completed 11 marathons including races in Boston; New York City; London; Philadelphia; San Francisco; and Washington, DC. Dr. Velasco is a passionate follower of the legendary British rock group, The Rolling Stones. Since 1972 he has been to 160 concerts worldwide, written several published articles, and met the band several times. He also enjoys reading Native American history; collecting pre-Industrial Revolution (1840) American painted furniture and pre-railroads (1880s) Navajo blankets and saddle blankets; gardening; and spending time with his four 4 dogs: Sophie, Gunner, Scout, and Gertrude.

Jeffrey D. Blackman, MD, FAAP

Dr. Jeffrey Blackman received his certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 1992, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He graduated from Dickinson College summa cum laude in 1985 with a bachelor of science degree in Chemistry, and in 1989 received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine. After completing his pediatric training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Dr. Blackman joined Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 1992. His special pediatric interests include follow-up care for the premature baby, behavioral pediatrics, allergy, asthma, and nutrition. He is also a member of the practice's section on breastfeeding.

Dr. Blackman is affiliated in New Jersey with Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees and Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, where he is a member of the Virtua Mt. Holly Quality Assurance and Peer Review Committee; he is also affiliated with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He lives in Moorestown with his wife and their four children. Dr. Blackman enjoys traveling, fitness, running, and watching and playing sports with his children.

Christina Lampone, MD , FAAP

Dr. Christina Lampone received her certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 2001 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated from Rosemont College in 1994, earned her doctorate of medicine degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1998, completed her pediatric training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and joined Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 2001.

Dr. Lampone's special pediatric interest is in the area of nutrition and obesity. She is affiliated with Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey. Dr. Lampone lives in Williamstown with her husband and their two sons. She enjoys traveling to the Jersey shore.

Dr. Julie Ayres is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated in New Jersey with Virtua Voorhees and Camden's Cooper University Hospital. After earning a bachelor's degree at The Catholic University of America, Dr. Ayres received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1999, and completed her residency in Philadelphia at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Dr. Ayres previously practiced pediatrics in Livingston, New Jersey, where she was affiliated with Saint Barnabas Medical Center. She joined Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics in 2004. Married with three children, Dr. Ayres enjoys waterskiing and spending time with her family.

Stacey R. Hammer, MD, FAAP

Dr. Stacey Hammer became certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2006 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology and her medical degree from Tulane University, then completed her pediatric training in 2006 at the University of Rochester, where she received a resident teaching award from the medical students there. Dr. Hammer joined Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 2006. Her pediatric interests include early childhood development.

Dr. Hammer is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Women's Medical Association. She is affiliated with Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey. Dr. Hammer enjoys playing tennis, going to the movies, reading, traveling, and cooking. She lives in Cherry Hill with her husband and their two sons.

Dr. Melissa Chase is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Upon graduating from Rutgers College, she received her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Cooper University Hospital through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. Dr. Chase joined Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics in 2004. She enjoys sharing time with her husband and their two children.

Dr. George is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is affiliated with Virtua Voorhees and also Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, where he completed his pediatric residency through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. While at Cooper, Dr. George was a two-time recipient of the "Extra Mile Award" given to the most outstanding resident in pediatrics. Dr. George graduated with high honors from Rutgers University and received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He joined Advocare South Jersey Pediatrics in 2008. Dr. George and his wife reside in their hometown of Washington Township, New Jersey. His hobbies include basketball, video games, and golf.


Eric A. Dorn, MD

Dr. Eric Dorn was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2008 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received a bachelor's degree with honors in liberal studies and medical humanities from the University of Delaware in 2001 and, through the "Medical Scholars Program," received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 2005. Dr. Dorn completed his pediatric training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and joined Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 2008. His pediatric interests include nutrition and obesity, as well as developmental pediatrics.

Dr. Dorn is affiliated with Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey and Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, New Jersey. His hobbies include running, fitness, and meteorology. He resides with his wife and daughter in Cherry Hill.
