Payroll Manager

The Payroll Manager oversees the payroll processes, reporting and performance of the payroll department.  Acts as liaison between payroll and HR as well as other departments as necessary.  

Responsibilities: The responsbilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
  • Add/set up state taxes as needed for telecommuting staff.
  • Understanding of new legislation impacting payroll
  • Balance payroll accounts by auditing, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Liability, Journal and PTO report processing
  • Quarterly state reports
  • Compiling data from payroll sources
  • Assist with performing bi-monthly payroll processing.
  • Associated filing - paperless
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years’ experience in data entry with strong attention to detail
  • 1-2 years’ experience processing payroll
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and information
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong in Microsoft Office: Excel and Word
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management and staff
  • Strong multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Knowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of basic structures for compensations, taxes and wages
  • Knowledge and understanding of state sick laws/rules
